Childs Company Advises Mac & Massey LLC
Atlanta, GA September 4, 2007 – Mac & Massey LLC, one of the country’s largest distributors and brokers of food ingredients, recently announced that High Street Capital (www.highstreetcapital.com) , a private equity firm based in Chicago, took a majority interest in the business. Childs Company advised the sellers.
Tim Cambias, Sr., founder of Mac & Massey, sought a transaction whereby he could achieve personal diversification, allow the next generation of management to assume formal leadership and position the business for future growth. The company, with High Street, plans to pursue an expansion strategy which will include organic growth in addition to growth through acquisitions.
In partnership with senior management, Childs Company helped integrate the two business units’ strategies into a cohesive strategic plan and undertook a search to find the right private equity partner. Once High Street was selected, Childs Company helped structure the transaction to achieve the objectives of both the founder of the company as well as its CEO, Randy Cimorelli, a veteran of the industry.
